Join us for our last workday of the season followed by the Newark Street Community Garden Association 2019 Fall Meeting on Saturday, October 12.
The workday will take place in the garden from 10 am – 12 noon. Following the workday, the Annual Fall Meeting will occur at the Cleveland Park Public Library from 1 pm – 3 pm.
Please remember the Annual Meeting afterward. We are no longer able to use the Meeting Room in the Police Station. We are using the public library, but the rooms are often reserved for Saturday morning.
Earlier in the day, there will also be a presentation in the garden from 9 am – 10 am: “Putting your Garden to Bed” presented by Larry Rice (Master Gardener).
Larry Rice has been gardening since he was 12 when he asked his Mom if he could have a garden and she handed him a shovel and pointed to a spot. He loved helping folks with their gardening as a Fairfax County Master Gardener for 10 years. He’ll talk about what you can plant right now and how to get your garden ready for winter, and leave lots of time for Q & A. Afterwards, he would be happy to accompany you to your plot for specific advice.
